WGL VOLUNTEERS

Parent volunteers are primary drivers to the success of our program!

Grade Level Coaches
  • Volunteer coaches are critical in helping Wellesley girls develop individual lacrosse skills, game IQ, teamwork and sportsmanship and a love for the sport so they come back year over year.

  • The coach's role is to provide the opportunity to learn, play and develop girls in a safe, inclusive environment for all, regardless of ability.

  • WGL partners with the Founders Girls Lacrosse League ("FGLL") and Mass Elite to provide coach training, umpire rules clinics and other coach and player development tools.

Grade Level Coordinators

Parents are our biggest advocates for Wellesley Girls Lacrosse.  Grade Level Coordinators ("GLCs") are critical to the operational success of our program.  GLCs do not need to be experienced players or coaches. GLCs should be enthusiastic, good communications and organized.  This role entails:

  • Sending out planning materials to families.

  • Coordinating with families to get players to register on time.

  • Be a good advocate for our families and players.  Work with the Grade Level Coaches to comprise teams.

  • Help recruit parent volunteer coaches.

  • Main liaison between WGL leadership and families communicating dates, times and other seasonal logistics.
